Dishwasher

EnerGuideIf you have an older model dishwasher, you are probably using more water than is necessary to clean your dishes.  When selecting a dishwasher, many models offer a combination of cycle options such as normal, express and auto.  By selecting the option suited to the load you are washing, you can save water.  Choose a model that has an “air dry” feature.

To save energy, conserve water and have less operating costs, select a model that has the Energy Star® label.  On average, an Energy Star® certified dishwasher will use 30% less water and 12% less energy than a standard model.  Also, look for the EnerGuide label that tells you the model’s energy consumption.

When using your dishwasher, scrape your dishes and choose the “air dry” feature. Only run with a full load.
